Help Us Serve Those in Need

Volunteers make up an important part of the Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport team. From rocking babies and reading to kids to offering comfort to terminally ill patients who have no family, our volunteers help us provide the quality and compassionate care our patients deserve.

You’ll be making a difference in your community and in the lives of those who need our care. You’ll work alongside other community-focused people like you who want to contribute to the health and well-being of others.

If you’re a college student in a healthcare-related field of study, volunteering with us is a great opportunity to work on the front lines with healthcare professionals related to your career track. You’ll gain insights into what it’s like to work in healthcare, as well as valuable networking exposure.

Available Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome volunteers at our three main hospital locations:

• Academic Medical Center, Shreveport
• St. Mary Medical Center, Shreveport
• Monroe Medical Center, Monroe

We have a variety of volunteer opportunities, depending on your areas of interest. Some volunteers work at our front desk to direct patients and visitors to where they need to go. Others answer phones or operate our Gift Shop, while some assist our spiritual care team.
