Inclusion has always been a part of who Ochsner is, and Ochsner LSU Health shares those same values. Delivering care that respects the individual and providing an inclusive place to receive care and work is the continuous journey we’re on together.

Inclusion provides synergy that celebrates individual uniqueness among people, cultures and structures that allows collaboration which empowers the Ochsner and Ochsner LSU Health teams to drive innovation and excellent outcomes through cultural competence. We focus our efforts in key areas that correlate back to our core values of Patients First, Compassion, Integrity, Excellence and Teamwork.

Meet the Groups

ABLE - African Americans Building & Leading Equality: The mission of ABLE is to be a resource and support in promoting affiliated councils to advance inclusion by transforming our workplaces and communities into inclusive environments; where individuals are valued for their talents and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

Exceptional Abilities: The mission and vision is to promote the inclusion and acceptance of people with exceptional abilities by providing advocacy and education on disability awareness to improve the well-being and overall quality of work and life of our employees and their families with exceptional abilities by identifying opportunities to create a more inclusive environment.

Hispanics at Ochsner Leading & Advocating (HOLA) is a diverse group of Ochsner employees that advocates for, leads, collaborates and partners with individuals and other groups inside and outside of our health system, that share the HOLA mission and vision. HOLA recognizes the value of inclusion and the needs of its employee members and the comity it serves.

PRIDE (People, Resources, Inclusiveness, Diversity, Education): Ochsner PRIDE will work to promote an inclusive community for LGBTQ employees, patients and clients. Ochsner PRIDE will support efforts to diversify employees, physicians, staff and faculty and will work to recruit and retain LGBTQ identified employees.

Resourceful Experienced Team Rises at Ochsner (RETRO): represents a diverse and dynamic population of Ochsner employees that advocates for, and empowers, Generation X and above individuals, not only within Ochsner but throughout the community. Through meaningful partnerships and collaborations, RETRO leverages the unique strengths of older individuals to bolster Ochsner’s internal make-up and outreach efforts.

VET FORCE 1 (Military/Veterans) will be a unified community of volunteers that improves the patient healthcare experience by strengthening Ochsner's workforce and improving the care of our veterans patients. We will achieve this vision through matching military experienced coordination between the VA and Ochsner, recognizing our veteran patients and employees, and creating a supportive network for them.

WoW (Women empowering Women): The mission and vision of WoW is to cultivate an inclusive environment that supports and encourages women to advance their skills and potential through connection, mentorship, collaboration, and discussion. This group is open to all members of the Ochsner community.
